This October the YWCA, in collaboration with community partners, participated in the national YWCA Take Back the Night Event, raising awareness surrounding family violence and sexual assault. The event included the Clothesline Project, Victim Silhouettes, a poster contest and a keynote presentation by Judge Steven Forrest followed by a luminary lighting ceremony, readings of victim stories and a musical performance by Christine Baze, founder of the Yellow Umbrella Organization.
